Teton Energy Corp, formerly Teton Petroleum Company (Teton), is a United States-based independent oil as gas exploration and production company with operations in the Rocky Mountain region. On February 16, 2005 Teton announced the purchase of 25% of the membership interest in Piceance Gas Resources, LLC. Piceance Gas Resources, LLC owns approximately 6,300 acres in the Piceance Basin in western Colorado. Piceance Gas Resources, LLC's 2005 capital program calls for the drilling of at least 8 wells. Long-term development plans may involve up to approximately 600 gross wells. PGR, LLC spudded the first well in the Piceance Basin on May 11, 2005. Teton has also acquired leasehold on over 163,000 acres in the eastern Denver-Julesburg Basin. The acreage is an extension of the Shallow Niobrara biogenic gas play found the in nearby Waverly Field, Bonnie Field and Republican Field.
