The company was formerly known as Empire Financial Holding Company and changed its name to Jesup & Lamont, Inc. in January 2008. Jesup & Lamont, Inc. was founded in 2000 and is headquartered in New York, New York. On July 30, 2010, Jesup & Lamont, Inc., along with its affiliate, filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The plan was later approved as Chapter 11 liquidation on December 7, 2011.
