The FS segment engages in the installation and servicing of DIRECTV video programming for residents of single family homes. It also offers installation services for broadband cable and Internet providers, and commercial customers. The MDU segment serves as a master service operator for DirecTV, a provider of satellite television services. It offers satellite television services to residents of multi-dwelling-units through a network of affiliated operators. As of March 15, 2012, this segment had approximately 112,000 owned and managed subscribers, with an additional 45,000 subscribers supported by the support center. The EE&C segment provides engineering and construction services for the wired and wireless telecommunications industry, including public safety networks. This segment also offers renewable energy services comprising wind and solar applications and other design and construction services. The company was formerly known as Vicom, Incorporated and changed its name to Multiband Corporation in July 2004. Multiband Corporation was founded in 1933 and is based in New Hope, Minnesota.
