iAsiaWorks, Inc. offers co-location and connectivity services, primarily to multinational corporations and Asian businesses. iAsiaWorks offers services that make it easy for its customers to do business in Taiwan. The Company's uniform technology, services and Internet data center (IDC) facility is designed to set a new standard across the region. Co-location In iAsiaWorks co-location solutions, customers can lease secure space for their servers and other equipment in the Company's Taiwan IDC facility. Co-location provides consistent services without the expense of building and operating IDC facilities. The Company's Taiwan IDC facility provides the physical environment to keep servers and other equipment functioning around-the-clock, iAsiaWorks staff to provide 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week monitoring and support, and direct access to iAsiaWorks' network. iAsiaWorks can add bandwidth and rack space as needed by each customer. iAsiaWorks' IDC enables co-location customers to connect directly to the iAsiaWorks network. This allows customers to take advantage of iAsiaWorks' high-bandwidth network and domestic connectivity and peering relationships iAsiaWorks has established. This direct connection also eliminates the need for leased-line connections to local service providers or POPs (points of presence) and can result in significant cost savings, especially for high usage (T1 and above) customers. Connectivity iAsiaWorks offers a wide range of connectivity options to meet the needs of business. Its connectivity services are differentiated by tiered services, with usage on demand; network monitoring and maintenance around the clock; quality, speed and reliability. Basic services include high-quality connections through leased-line (fixed or burst-able, and from 64K up to 128K, 256K, 512K, 768K, T1/E1 or T3), dial-up or ISDN (64K or 128K) connections; redundant circuits and backup lines, through a secondary ISDN local loop, to keep mission-critical applications running in the event of a circuit outage, and global roaming to guarantee worldwide Internet access with just a local phone call throughout Asia and from more than 3,000 access points in 150 countries. Managed services include secure access/firewall that prevents unauthorized entry or limits access to specified applications. Secure access enhances network security without requiring investment in or maintenance of firewall equipment. Other managed services include bandwidth monitoring and reporting that will help optimize bandwidth utilization and traffic patterns to meet customers' strategic needs.
