Universal Express, Inc. (USXP), incorporated on April 6, 1983, is an integrated business-to-business service company focused on the private postal and international shipping industries. The Company's principal subsidiaries and divisions are UniversalPost Private Postal Network (UniversalPost), UniversalPost International Courier Service, Universal Express Logistics, Inc., Universal Express Capital Corp., Universal Cash Express and Universal Express Properties. The UniversalPost is a private postal network comprising an independent and franchise postal stores in the United States. UniversalPost International Courier Service is an alliance of independently owned and operated express courier services operating in 268 cities in 120 countries. Universal Express Logistics joins the Company's Luggage Express service offered through UniversalPost and its Internet-based Virtual Bellhop luggage pickup and delivery service. Universal Express Capital is an asset-based transportation/equipment leasing company. Its Universal Cash Express division provides stored value cards to consumers. Universal Express Properties concentrates on commercial property acquisitions. UniversalPost Private Postal Network UniversalPost provides independent storeowners with a variety of services and products to help increase their profitability, while maintaining their local or franchised identities. Members of the private postal network provide the public with a complement to the United States Post Office for various retail and business postal services. In addition, these postal service centers offer individuals and business customers an additional variety of personal business services and merchandise. USXP's Web-based customer relationship management software system's delivery of business products and services to the network; commercial mail receiving; office products and supplies; packaging and shipping; copying, imaging, photo finishing and digital services; home office boutique items, and concierge services. UniversalPost also offers flowers/gift baskets, corrugated and packaging, customized rubber stamps, equipment leasing, moving supplies, car rental, customized corrugated, business and office supplies, and parcel insurance. The network also provides credit card processing, check processing, prepaid debit card load stations, discounted supplies, joint promotions, tape to digital versatile disc (DVD) conversion, fingerprinting, international cell phone rental, credit union and message on hold services, including consolidated shipping rates, 1-800-Tow Truck and bill payments. Other products and services offered by UniversalPost include discounted prescriptions program, gift cards, passport and visa expediting, retail products and sign making. In May 2005, the Company announced a partnership with MyMailEmail allowing postal stores to quickly e-mail customers when they have mail. In August 2005, USXP announced an agreement with Yard Sale Drop-Off (YSDO) to market its online auction solution to postal stores in order that they can become drop off and shipping centers for YSDO online auctions. Also in August 2005, the Company announced an agreement with Q-Check allowing customers of postal stores to accept checks as a secured method of payment over the phone, fax or via e-mail. UniversalPost International Courier Service UniversalPost International Courier Service, through its network of independently owned and operated express courier services operating in 268 cities in 120 countries, provides global delivery and services to international firms. As of June 30, 2005, the UniversalPost International Courier Service network delivered over 650,000 packages per month. The UniversalPost the International Courier Service member offers flexible, customized international services to meet a client's specific distribution needs.
