IMPCO Technologies, Inc. is a designer, manufacturer and supplier of components and certified engine systems that store gaseous fuels and monitor and control the pressure and flow of those fuels for use in primarily internal combustion engines. The Company's products include gaseous fuel regulators, fuel shut-off valves, fuel delivery systems, complete engine systems and electronic controls for use in internal combustion engines for the transportation, industrial and power generation markets. IMPCO also provides engineering and systems integration services to address its individual customer requirements for product performance, durability and physical configuration. Its customers include original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and engine manufacturers. Products IMPCO also designs, assembles and markets ancillary components required for systems operation on alternative fuels. Fuel metering products are designed to operate on propane, natural gas or digester gas fuels, as well as to resist poor fuel quality. Fuel metering electronic control overlays allow integration with modern emissions monitoring systems for emissions compliance capability. Fuel regulators reduce pressure of gaseous and liquid fuels, vaporize liquid fuels and handle a range of inlet pressures. IMPCO's fuel shut-off valves mechanically or electronically shuts off fuel supply to the regulator and engine. These valves are available for low-pressure vapor natural gas and high-pressure liquid propane. Designs of shut-off valves also incorporate standard fuel filtration to ensure system reliability. IMPCO's electronic control products provide closed loop fuel control, allowing integration with existing sensors to ensure low emissions. These products also integrate gaseous fuel systems with existing engine management functions. The engine-fuel delivery systems feature turnkey kits for a variety of engine sizes and applications. These delivery systems provide customized applications interface per customer requirements. IMPCO's full systems is a vehicle and equipment systems for aftermarket conversion, providing engine and vehicle management systems for heavy-duty engine on-highway truck and bus operation on natural gas, and off-highway and industrial engines used for material handling, pumping and industrial applications. Services IMPCO has also developed capabilities that it uses to develop a range of products to satisfy the Company's customer's needs and applications. Design and systems integration includes a team of applications engineers for component, system and engine level exercises providing support to customers in the application of its gaseous fuel products and applications engineering services for whole vehicle/machine integration outside of the Company's products. Systems integration can also be applied to full three-dimensional design modeling and component rapid prototyping services. The Company offers certification of component products and services in line with the requirements of California Air Resources Board for off-highway engines. It also provides customers with the required tools to manage in-field traceability and other requirements beyond initial emission compliance. IMPCO's testing and validation services are designed for component endurance testing, component thermal and flow performance cycling, and engine and vehicle testing and evaluation for performance and emissions. IMPCO prepares pre-assembled modules for direct delivery to production lines of customers through its sub-system assembly services, through which it also provides sourcing and integrating second and third tier supplier components. Training and technical service capabilities of the Company involves technical service support, including technical literature, Web-based information, direct telephone interface and onsite support, and training services through sponsored programs at approved colleges, at IMPCO's facilities worldwide and onsite at customer facilities.
