Sense Holdings, Inc. (Sense) designs, develops, manufactures and sells fingerprint-based identification products and systems that incorporate biometric technology to verify a person's identity. Sense has developed two integrated applications that incorporate its BioClock hardware platform. The CheckPrint T/A systems are designed primarily for use by employers who desire to verify the presence of employees at the workplace, and to monitor their time and attendance at work. The CheckPrint A/C systems are designed to permit access to locked buildings, offices or other secured areas only to selected individuals, whose identities can be verified using the Company's fingerprint identification software. Sense also offers software updates and onsite service contracts for additional fees. In addition, the Company sells other goods and services, such as a desk top finger sensor, a desk top finger sensor with a smart card reader built into the desk top unit, software developer's kits (SDKs) and database management tools. Sense markets its systems to manufacturers, retailers and other businesses, to whom it markets its smaller solution. Sense also markets to larger businesses that require full custom integration solutions. BioClock is a standalone platform, or completely network-enabled system, which replaces a traditional wall-mounted or freestanding swipe or punch-card time clock. Identity verification is accomplished by comparing an individual's scanned and digitized fingerprint to the fingerprint profile stored in a computer database. The user's fingerprint is scanned by means of a silicon-based reader with sensors that capture the fingerprint image. The image is then converted into data that is stored in the system's computer database and saved as a reference for comparison to the fingerprint offered for identification. BioClock replaces traditional identification devices, such as swipe cards; punch cards; personal identification number (PIN) numbers, or passwords that can be stolen or voluntarily provided by the owner to another person. Alternatively, BioClock can be used in conjunction with traditional identification devices for added security. Sense has made its systems modular so the user can choose which parts of the technology they wish to use. In addition, the Company has designed its systems to be compatible with many existing technologies so that they can be integrated into an existing system. The Company also owns, licenses or has optioned for purchase of the Micro Electro Mechanical Sensors technology for use in the field of explosive detection. CheckPrint T/A Sense's time and attendance systems, which are marketed under the CheckPrint T/A name, use fingerprint verification to authenticate the identity of employees when they arrive at and leave work; gather data, including the time each employee attends work and what areas were accessed by an employee; perform payroll functions and other record keeping calculations using the data that is gathered; provide electronic export capability to over 150 independent third-party payroll service providers to facilitate the use of automated payroll checks between Sense customers and their payroll service provider; generate logs and reports, including 60 standard reports, and perform other functions, including employee scheduling, job cost analysis, editing time punches, electronic calculations and related record keeping. The standard CheckPrint T/A systems include a 100 person user base. CheckPrint A/C The Sense access control systems, which are marketed under the CheckPrint A/C name, are security systems that permit access to locked buildings, offices or other secured areas only to those whose identities can be verified, using the Company's fingerprint identification software. The CheckPrint A/C systems, which can be used with or without Smart Card technology, can be programmed for different levels of security, permitting access only to recognized individuals who have the requisite level of security clearance.
