Trico Marine Services, Inc., through its subsidiaries, provides subsea and marine support vessels and services to oil and natural gas exploration and production companies. The company operates in three segments: Subsea Services, Subsea Trenching and Protection, and Towing and Supply. The Subsea Services segment provides various subsea services, including inspection, maintenance, and repair; survey and light construction support; and subsea intervention and decommissioning services. It also offers marine trenching, sea floor cable laying, and subsea installation services. The Subsea Trenching and Protection segment provides various services, such as the burial of subsea transmission systems, including pipelines, flow lines, and cables; and installation of subsea infrastructure and subsea flexible products, such as umbilicals and integrated service umbilicals. It serves offshore oil and gas exploration and production, and power and telecommunications companies. The Towing and Supply segment provides marine support services comprising the transportation of drilling materials, supplies, and crews to drilling rigs and other offshore facilities; towing support for drilling rigs and equipment; and support for the construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of offshore facilities. As of December 31, 2009, the companys fleet, together with vessels held in joint ventures, consisted of 66 vessels, including 7 subsea platform supply vessels, 9 multi-purpose service vessels, 5 large-capacity platform supply vessels, 5 large anchor handling towing and supply vessels, 30 offshore supply vessels, 3 crew boats, 5 trenching vessels, 1 multi-purpose platform supply vessel, and 1 line handling vessel. It operates primarily in the United States, North Sea, Mexico, the Asia Pacific Region, Brazil, West Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean. The company was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas.
